My I haven't posted for a long while! Geeze the last post was my own market....
Anyhoo, I'm back from the Market Girl - Boutique Market in Perth. It was a bit hectic with the two dremlets in tow (I will TRY not to do that again) but with Mum to give me a hand I still had a blast whipping around saying hi to a few people & perusing some stalls.
I wish I had more photos but I did snap these of the kids running away with dinner from the Turban Chopsticks. They looked so adorable (if I do say so myself) the lovely Mei-Sann jumped out from behind the counter to get in on the action. What a cute three-some they made!
I got to say hi to Elaine & Kelly from 76 Tilly Lane, but missed Victoria from Brussel Sprouts (she had ducked to the loo!). These girls have traveled all the way from Kalgoorlie for this market so Tansy, Julie & I spiced up their trip down to the Big Smoke with a delicious dinner at a fabulous Indian restaurant in Freo last night!! It was so great to meet yet more fabulous people face-to-face after meeting in the virtual world of Facebook.
There were so many other fabulous stores there today you should really check out all the links through the Market girl website. There is so much talent packed into this corner of Australia!
Oh, and a big Thanks! goes out to the girls from Taylor'd Events for giving the kids the incentive to get around the Market with good humour and no tantrums with the lure of some sand-art play & a packet of lollies if they were well behaved. It worked! They were so proud of these little pieces of 'art'. Miss T insisted that hers was 'for daddy'. Won't he be chuffed.
Ohhh, and if you look really hard, do you notice a wee pom pom topiary in the background??? Taylor'd Events are going to offer my Mollydag Made Pom Pom Hair clips as part of their party package. How cute! A topiary table centerpiece that comes apart at the end of the party so all the girls take home hair clips as a party favour! What a fabulous idea - well done Jo & Janie.
I hope your weekend was fun Jacq. I hope to take some pictures of what is coming through the sewing machine these past few days! I have been busy.......but you'll have to wait now until the sun is shining again (I think it going to bucket down tonight!)
Love A.

Market day
Whew, the Treasure Chest Markets have been and gone for another month. I have been so busy, pedal-to-the-floor sewing for the past week, my poor blog, Facebook, the family, the house, the washing, my 'real' work have all been thoroughly neglected!
It was worth it though. I think I had a nice range of Savanni Tunics & Ruffle Dresses to display, and I managed to fill the 'truffula tree' with Pom Pom Hair clips!
I shared my stall with the fabulous Tansy from Matsy Designs again. I'm very fortunate that she & i can do these stalls together, it just makes the day so much more fun! Thanks Tansy, you're a star XX
I got a visit from a gorgeous customer Alli & her two boys. They came up to the table and it was funny, I didn't recognise her but when I looked over and saw her wee boy in the pram holding one of my felted jumper bunnies the penny dropped!! I instantly recognised him from a photo she had posted to my Mollydag FB page! How sweet!! Amanda & her mum Kaye from the kids daycare. Amanda is just setting up her business called Raspberry Fizz - go check it out if you have girly-girls in need of tutus, clip holders & other fabulous things!
Now, off to sit with my family before they forget who I am.....Amber

New Party Dress
Hi Jacq,
Didn't I post on FB last week there had been 10 days of NO sewing updates??? Well, do I have some sewing updates for you...
Holey, I'm up to my eyeballs with sewing! Jen from Pikelet workshop has been away for 9 days and left me with some Poppet creating. Just like the 'ol days' she comes back tomorrow and I haven't even started!!!
I went up to Jo's from Joallie Petit yesterday for an absolutely FABULOUS day of sewing, coffee, chatting, a bit more sewing, more chatting....oh a very late lunch, more sewing and wait....a bit more chatting! It was so much fun. Isn't it nice to spend the day talking about fabric, the creative process, what you're up to, what they're up to, what others are up to..... You get the gist. Anyhoo, Jo left me with some catch up sewing to do at home (I'm still on my L-plates with her, I still need bit of practice to achieve her immaculate level of craftsmanship). I should have come home and done that but no....

Last night Candy came over to dissect a hand-sewn creation of hers (see pink dress above). Made during one of her wee girl's naps Candy wanted it reproduced (by a sewing machine, hee hee) in a new fabric.I can't believe she just sat down with a pair of scissor, needle & thread and came up with this! Me, I am too scared to attempt anything without a pattern backed up with a bunch of tutorials (pic heavy is a must)! I think Candy & I would make a good team - she designs, I create.....
As poor Mr B put the kids to bed (AGAIN..) We ripped stitches, cut, labeled, drank mango beer, cut some more, had another G&T as I tried to figure out where to go next.... and lo and behold....A dress was created! I can't show you the pics yet, anything I took on my crappy camera (sorry Mr B, but it is) would do it a disservice. All I can say is that it ended up remarkably like THIS Disney princess & I was terribly proud that I managed to create something without a pattern. I sure have come a long way in 4 years don't you think Jacq?!?!
Now, where was this post going....I forget??!!
Oh yeah. What I've been up to instead of finishing my paid jobs :)
A new Pink Champagne party dress for Miss T!! Oh my! Isn't it the bomb!
I can't wait to see her in it tomorrow. For once, she looked very pleased when I told her it was a new dress for her. Normally she won't have a bar of it, but today I must have caught her in a good mood! Let's hope she feels the same way tomorrow afternoon when I try to get her dressed.
I have to confess, I'm have bought the ruffle fabric in pink, charcoal & white/navy for the Mollydag Made shop. I have a market coming up on May 1st so I thought I could take them & see how they go. I know you and I discussed how selling bodysuits were an issue last time (though I'm still taking the ones I still have!)so I thought these would be less of a problem for fit. I thought of offering a size 2, 4 & 5 (or 6). Try to cover my bases. What do you think?
Wow, that was a long ramble. I haven't spoken to you for ages so that's probably why. I should get on the machine & finish off my paid work but 2 glasses of wine mean I'm DONE! I got through all my studies thinking that I can 'always do it tomorrow' so why change my habits now! :)
Love you.

Easter Giveaway
Well, the Easter Giveaway almost went off without a hitch. I had a wonderful rush on people entering the comp by tagging the Giveaway photo which meant that it reached the max (50 I think) before the comp closed. No dramas, I allowed people to comment below the photo, which a few did.
It was good actually. The kids both knew I was drawing the Easter prize and wanted to be part of it so before rushing to work at 7:30am, I cut up all the names & let Miss T draw a name from the hat. Whoo hoo....Winnner!
The Boy then decided he wanted to pull out a winner & wouldn't be placated by telling him he can pull out a name too. "But I wanted to draw the winner!!!". Quick solution to the ensuing fight....two winners!!!
So you lucky gals, both get an Easter treat. One will be going in the post tomorrow, the other was very kindly sent off to a good friend of her's whom she says could do with some cheering up.
The giveaway was a huge success. I don't really care how many (if any) sales I make from this, or if my 'like' numbers increase. It just felt really exciting to be giving away a little Mollydag Made goodness. Maybe that's what I should do with all the things I make :) hee hee....

A pair of hares!
I saw this tutorial from Wendy at Show Tell Share via One Pretty Thing this morning and I just couldn't help but make two Ribbon Easter Bunny Hair clips before heading off to work.
They were a bit fiddly but the tutorial was so well laid out it was easy to follow and they turned out super cute.
When I showed them to Miss T, she thought it was fun to bounce, bounced the two across the table top. She was even more pleased once she discovered they were hair clips!
Hmmm, I see a few more of these clips leaving the house with any Mollydag Made orders mailed before Easter.
Now Hop to it & make your own!
Cheers,

A day in the park
A day in the park 03/30/2011
I don't normally share too much of my own dreamlets (unless they are modeling a new Mollydag creation!) but I had to share this album. My great friend Candy from Candy Goldsmith Art and Photography & spent the morning in Hyde Park & look at the gorgeous shots she caught of my two dreamlets & her little girl Bonnie.
I have to say, those photographers earn their keep! It's hard work getting kids to be where the light is good, stand still enough to be captured and yet remain natural & candid. Between tantrums (mostly Miss T....well and a little bit of mummy tantrum too...), taking shoes off, toilet runs, falls, bonked foreheads, putting shoes back on, broken pom pom wands & an impromptu stop for morning tea you have to snap where and when you can. Candy did a fabulous job and I'm so pleased. I know she has a tonne of other photos to share that she just hasn't had time to edit yet.
Candy you are the BOMB!!! Thank you, thank you XXXX

Thank You Bub & Moo. I love your blog, because lets face it...Everyone loves to shop!

Cup O Tea?
My friend Candy took these photos of Miss T when we went over for a playdate. Aren't they gorgeous! I love the black & white shot. Miss T is at that wonderful age where tea parties are right up her alley. Mum bought her a tea set for her birthday and she can easily spend half and hour in the bath filling, pouring, stirring and offering cups of tea & coffee with a stern 'SIT' while pointing to the stool to anyone unfortunate enough to walk past the bathroom.
PS. If you have time, check out her new website. We were up half the night putting the finishing touches to it. It looks pretty stylin' if I do say so myself! I wish I could put her in my pocket to do all our family pics!
