Rainbow Felted Eggs

It's been funny weather here - rainy one minute, sunny and hot the next - so making Rainbows was in order!

Aren't they so pretty. I'm a bit addicted to rainbows these days. My eye seems to be drawn to things in that ROYGBIV colourway and the make me happy. Maybe it's because I am subconsciously looking for that elusive pot of gold......?

So, now I can walk into my sewing room without tripping over a mountain of boxes, fabric, stuff, stuff and more stuff, I got to it and made a small clutch of Rainbow Felted Eggs. I haven't made any in ages so it was fun to get wet and soapy again. Seeing these little gems slowly forming in my kitchen sink was good for my creative soul - a much needed activity these days. The dreamlets sure liked it too. Each time one was finished, they'd run about the kitchen giving it a good shake-shake-shake! I can safely say they've all been 'tested' and work a treat, putting a smile on the dial of the youngsters & the big gal of this household.

Here's hoping there's a little sunshine and rainbows in your world today.

More felt lovelies

I'm on a roll - another felt flower rolled off the Mollydag Made production line this morning. This rose barrette was made between buttering toast, making Milo & wiping Vegemite off wee faces at breakfast time.

Thank you Purl Bee for the wonderful tutorial. I'm pretty sure there will be more of these being made soon. I might even have a couple to take to the next Treasure Hunt Market Place - after all, it is a whole 7 days away!!!

Felt Daliah for Sandra

Another daliah whipped up for my good friend Sandra. She is always there to break up my exciting work day with a coffee & a chat out in the shipyard behind Building 19 so when she commented on my Black daliah, I thought I'd make one for her too.
I really must find some nice 3mm wool felt to try. The acrylic doesn't look to bad but I'd love a heavier, more dense weave felt to work with.
Then again, maybe I could just make my own felt...?

Look our girls, I see this as a staple birthday gift this year! Put your colour preference in while you can!!!

Easter Feature

Just as I'm organising myself to get a wriggle on and do a little advertising before Easter, look what I found!

Picture
Look at all the fabulous Easter goodies the fabulous Bub & Moo featured today on her blog. There are clothes for boys, clothes for girls and a selection of Easter toys. And look.....my wee felted rattle eggs were highlighted. What a treat for me!

Thank You Bub & Moo. I love your blog, because lets face it...Everyone loves to shop!

Sally bag

Although I'm guilty of it too, it makes me a wee bit sad to see someones beautiful crochet/knitting/craft being carted around in a reusable shopping bag. They do have their uses people, but a Coles bag should be kept for the supermarket!

After Auntie Sally came by last week to help watch the kids while I sewed up the baby bibs & another gift (in drafts to be posted soon!) with her beautiful crochet blanket in said grocery bag I thought I should remedy this.

VoilĂ ! The 'Sally 'Bag'. Take one felted 100% pure Australian wool jumper, chop-chop-chop-it, embellish and there you have it. A roomy rather gorgeous bag ready for her next project.

I got all my inspiration for this design from this beautiful bag.

I said to Mark that I have problems letting go of many of my crafting endeavors and this one is particularly difficult as I've fallen in love with it as it came together. We're off to Dad's for lunch today so I had better drop it off to Sally before I find it filled with my crochet project!

Felting

bunny? My first attempt at felting - a bunny with flat feet. I didn't prefelt it enough so the feet stuck together when I hot washed it. Oh well, it gives me something to clip The Boy's dummy to at night.

The second addition to our felted creatures stash. I so want to make more of these. I love the colour graduations, it worked better than I expected. I thank Barbara for the angler-fish/dreadlock hairdo!

Instructions & patterns if you wish. I can post them later. On a photo uploading binge for you Jacq!
